Antifungal Medications
Doctor Fungus
Shown are the agents that have been licensed or are under development for use as therapy of the fungal infections of man. Picking the most appropriate agent for a given disease is sometimes complex. To aid in this process, see our discussion of agents of choice and the discussions of the individual mycoses themselves.

Treatment Guidelines for Fungal Infections
During the last decade, the incidence of superficial and deep mycotic infections has continued to increase explosively. Fungal diseases were for many years considered a specialty area, consisting predominantly of endemic mycoses that affected unique subpopulations of individuals. The epidemiology of invasive mycoses has dramatically altered, to a predominantly nosocomial complication or event in an expanding population of at-risk hospitalized subjects. Two factors have had a dominating influence on the changing epidemiology of fungal disease. First, the number of at-risk patients for invasive mycotic infection has increased, as more patients have undergone chemotherapy and transplantation and received a growing array of immunosuppressive agents. The expanding number of patients is further magnified by longer survival, which extends the at-risk period. Patients with AIDS are particularly at risk for virtually all the invasive mycoses from recalcitrant oropharyngeal candidiasis to fulminant systemic mycoses. Second, the increase in fungal disease is in no small way a by-product of the ever-improving technology available to practitioners, including intravascular catheters and the drugs used to suppress the otherwise efficient host defense system. Faced with the challenge of the increasing incidence of fungal diseases, the pharmaceutical industry responded, and the decade of the 1990s can be considered the decade of the antimycotics. The number of oral and parenteral antifungal agents has significantly increased, and recently more antifungal susceptibility tests have become available. Significant progress has been made for determining the application of these tests in routine clinical practice, an issue addressed in several sections of the practice guidelines.

ThreeLac contains three forms of spore-forming lactic acid bacteria. These live microorganisms purge your intestinal tract of the parasitic, fungal form of candida that cause yeast infections. At the same time, ThreeLac helps to balance the pH levels in our bodies. ThreeLac's micro-encapsulation process gets the candida-eating live bacteria safely past the acidic environment in the stomach. These oxygen-friendly bacteria go to work "dining" on anaerobic problem organisms that you don't want. The refined yeast powder in ThreeLac is a food source for the bacteria. To keep them alive in ThreeLac, and to provide a ready source of food when they activate in the intestines. It gets eaten up and does not cause problems.

Know the Cause - Science & Weekly Updates
In September 1999, Johns Hopkins medical researchers confirmed that virtually all chronic sinus infections were due to fungus. Not all findiings are that solid. As a matter of fact, few are. Rather, scientists seem confused and startled at their own discoveries with regard to fungus. Fungus makes poisonous byproducts called mycotoxins. Antibiotics are one class of mycotoxins. Without this knowledge, however, many questions are raised when researchers stumble onto this seemingly elementary fact. Recently, researchers have discovered that antibiotics are contributing to everything from 2nd heart attacks to breast cancer. It is our hope that someday when discoveries like these are made, logic will supercede confusion.

Probiotics

Total Immune Booster contains Allimax, a patented stabilized Allicin garlic extract, BioSure, a patent pending full eco-system probiotic, Swedish Flower Pollen, Chinese Woldberry, and Whole Glucan Particulate Beta 1, 3-D Glucan, the most expensive Beta Glucan available. The patented allicin garlic extract in Total Immune Booster will kill candida, virusus, parasites and bad bacteria in the intestines and throughout the body. It's patent pending BioSure probiotic formulation will reintroduce a probiotic community that will culture and grow in the intestines unlike most probiotics. And it will not allow other pathogens to destroy it or coexist with it, again something other probiotics cannot do.
